Easter 2016

Dear Matthew

Last weekend we celebrated Easter with a myriad of activity. We started by having a very yummy breakfast at Ma Ma and Gumps' house, which seems to have become a bit of a tradition on Good Friday. We had waffles, fresh muffins, fruit, croissants - it was delicious and you actually ate quite a bit! It was followed by a little Easter egg hunt around their front garden which you enjoyed although there were a few moments where we had to make the little eggs pretty obvious (green eggs on green grass was a bad idea). You then took your stash and went and ate them in your tent!

In the afternoon I had to work so you spent some quality time with daddy. Come Saturday morning we dropped the Jazz off for a service and to kill some time we braved IKEA. It was actually more enjoyable than I thought despite the fact that we kept promising you chips and weren't able to deliver them until we were leaving - but we survived! And we got everything on our list!

We then started to head back to the service centre but as they hadn't called us yet we figured the car wasn't ready so we stopped into the zoo. They have a dinosaur exhibit on at the moment which you loved, with many comments of 'look! Dinosaur! A big, big dinosaur!!' coming out of your mouth! Luckily (sort of) the weather wasn't great and it wasn't busy so we wandered around, saw the meerkats being fed and the elephants doing some exercises.

Saturday afternoon we picked up the car, finished our Easter egg shopping and took a trip to Bunnings for some stuff for the garden. Sunday morning we woke up and the Easter bunny had come! There were many exclamations of 'wow! Look mummy! Wow!' at the bunny footprints while you collected your eggs. We then went and visited your great grandparents and you had fun destroying their garden :)

On Monday we did some shopping before heading your grandad and Maree's place for lunch as it was his 60th birthday. Grandad's poor dog Beau has been in the wars and had to have two operations in the last week or so and your grandad was meant to be in Singapore but stayed home to care for Beau so it was good to be able to help him celebrate. You had fun playing with two other older boys, Oscar and Angus, who are family friends of grandad's.

All in all it was a wonderful, highly productive weekend! Happy Easter my little bunny!

Love you,

Mum xxx
