Bins, soakwells and birthday parties!

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie,

In preparation for the rest of the paving to go down out the back now that the patio is in, your dad filled another 9 cubic metre bin with gravel and the concrete paths that were all there when we moved in. Your dad has been an absolute machine, filling his third skip bin in the last year. It was a mammoth effort and hopefully that means in the next few months you'll be able to play outside a lot more as it will no longer be a sand pit! We also had ten soakwells installed given the patio is so huge and we're going to have a lot of run-off this winter otherwise. Tobes you loved having the mini excavator in your backyard before you headed off to school!

We've also been going to a few birthday parties lately! Tobes you looked so cute dressed up as a prince for one of them! We also went to your friend Jorge's in the hills and Matt you went to a party at Timezone, one of your favourite places. It's great having so many parties again after so many years of cancelled celebrations due to the pandemic.

Love you all,

Darryl's 60th birthday

 Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

At the end of March we celebrated Darryl’s 60th birthday by everyone in the family staying at his and Nanna’s holiday house just south of Mandurah. All your cousins, and all Darryl’s side of the family met for lunch and cake on the Saturday, and then we all went down to the beach, enjoyed leftovers for dinner, and had marshmallows around the fire pit in the evening. In the morning we had a cooked breaky together, all the kids got to enjoy a trip around the property on Darryl’s ride on mower, and we took a final trip to the beach before heading home. It was so lovely to spend this time together again as a family and celebrate Darryl turning the big 6-0.

Matt, you loved sleeping in the swag with your cousin Harry and playing beach volleyball with your big cousins on the sand. Tobes, you LOVED playing with your step-cousin Hunter, and you were so sad when he had to leave early Sunday morning. Josie, you loved the kangaroos that all live across the road from the holiday house, right in the middle of suburbia!

Love you all,
