Dear Matthew
In an attempt to get you out and about in nature we walked across the road a couple of weekends ago into the block of bush land. We regularly hear bird life in this particular bush (I can hear kookaburras singing right now) and it's dense enough to be interesting without being hard to walk through.
You were so happy to just wander through it all, despite stacking it every fourth or fifth step and loved picking up sticks, bending down to touch the dirt and generally just exploring. Soda and you daddy accompanied us and I took some beautiful photos of you (and daddy took some of the both of us). So lucky to have the bush literally across the street!
Thank you for being so brave and inquisitive, you make these sort of outings so much fun.
Love,

Family lunch
Dear Matthew
Earlier this month your grandma organised a family lunch at her place, just as a way to bring all the family together (because the bigger we get, the harder it is to make sure we're in the same room together!).
My cousin Kate came up from Busselton with her kids Mia and Dusty and you had a great time playing with Mia. You two were throwing the thousands of golf balls that grandma and gramps have at their house all over the back yard and just generally getting up to mischief. Kate was one of my favourite childhood friends so to see you playing with her daughter is just so lovely.
We had a big cooked lunch and lots of yummy dessert and then you and your dad passed out in one of the back rooms for an afternoon nap.
Was a really wonderful afternoon catching up with grandma's side of the family.

Catch up with your friends
Dear Matthew
A few weeks ago we caught up with Aunty Bec, Aunty Pia, uncle Rod, Aunty Alysia and Thatcher, Marlow and Oliver at John Oldham Park in the city. Your dad was in Sydney with your grandad so we just went along together.
You had a grand old time on the giant slide, the cool playground and watching the ducks with the boys. Was a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon and the mums had a good chance to catch up too. You're catching up to the boys in height despite them both being over a year older than you.
I'm so happy you're loving catching up with other kids and being social, I don't know what I'd do if you were shy :)
