Beach boy

Dear Matthew

We recently took a family beach trip to Leighton Beach (the local dog beach). You absolutely love going to the beach and always have fun watching Soda and the other dogs run around. I love the first photo below of you and Soda walking down to the shore, it completely encapsulates your desire to experience the joy of the ocean with your four-legged buddy by your side.

This time however, you started to get a bit too brave for my liking, wading quite deep into the water. As the wind was blowing a gale I was rugged up and started to get my jeans wet trying to keep you out of the waves, but you continued to try and go back in. I love your bravery but was scared of you being washed out to sea!

Somehow your dad also managed to step on a bee that was in the ocean (this is his third bee sting in about four months- I have no idea how it keeps happening to him) so after a little while we called it quits and headed home.

Love you,

Seeing da God-fadda

Dear Matthew

A few weeks before Christmas we caught up with your godfather, Dan, and his girlfriend Layla. They are an awesome couple who always spoil you with presents. We went over to their house for an afternoon catch up and to meet their new puppy, Pudding.

We also went for a walk in the path across the road from their place and while you started off walking Soda on her lead, after a while you abandoned her for the much easier to walk dog, Pudding. It was hilarious to see you get annoyed at being handed Soda's lead and trying to grab Pudding's lead out of Dan's hand. At one point Pudding also escaped and ran through the cricket match that was happening on the oval and Dan had to run around yelling 'Pudding! Pudding!' Safe to say it caused a few laughs!

Love you my beautiful boy,

Christmas catch ups with friends

Dear Matthew

In the lead up to Christmas we have been catching up with your friends from mother's group as well as your friends Olivia and Archie (Bree's kids). With mother's group we met up at Point Walter Reserve where you had a great time playing in the water and on the playground with Chloe and Charlotte (and enjoyed a few chips afterwards). With Bree's kids we met up at the Esplanade Park in Fremantle and had a great play on all the equipment and enjoyed a picnic on the grass.

Both times you were spoilt with presents and had a lot of fun in the beautiful summer sun we've been experiencing.

How lucky are we to have such wonderful friends?!

Love,

Mum xxx
