Harry's Birthday

Dear Matthew and Toby

For your cousin Harrison's birthday this year we met all your cousins after school at Latitude in Joondalup. I had never been there before, but it's this huge indoor sports complex that has an indoor playground, foam pit and trampoline for little kids, then a huge area of trampolines, mats and rock climbing/abseiling. Your aunty Chantel and I hadn't told you or Harry that we were meeting each other there so it was a lovely surprise for you both when you realised the other was there.

Tobes you had a great time playing in the little kids play area and Matt you had your first go at rock climbing. Initially you were a bit apprehensive and took it slow but eventually you climbed almost all the way to the top of the climbs - it was so amazing to watch your confidence grow.

I wrote the following on my facebook page under a photo of you two when I was reflecting on your beautiful relationship with Harry, Matt, which I thought you'd like to see here too:

'These two beautiful boys once shared the same due date. One came along two days after it and the other followed three days later, and so they forever share this week of celebrations in late October. I know how lucky it is to have cousins the same age and thank my lucky stars these two came along together. They are two peas in a pod, getting up to mischief together and always looking forward to the next time they get to spend time together. Happiest of birthdays Harry- seeing you will forever be Matt's favourite present.'

Love you boys,

Matthew's 6th Birthday

Dear Matthew and Toby

We recently celebrated your sixth birthday Matt! Your actual birthday fell on a Tuesday this year, so on the Sunday before that we had a party at Crocs for you and all your friends. Your lovely aunty Robyn made you a Ben 10 cake (as this is your latest craze) and you had a brilliant time playing on the indoor playground with everyone.

On your actual birthday we gave you your presents, which included a fully stocked art cart (as you love arts and crafts), binoculars, a PlayStation game and some Ben 10 figurines. Being a school day, I had the pleasure of joining you in the classroom. You got to wear the 'birthday hat' and sit on the 'birthday chair' and during your Indonesian class the class sang happy birthday to you in Indonesian. That evening your nanna and Darryl joined us for dinner and we had your favourite pasta of ravioli and carbonara sauce.

Matt you have been such a blessing. You made us parents and you teach us all about life. It was such a joy to celebrate you turning 6 and watch all the joy you experienced being surrounded by your friends and family. Thank you for being such an incredibly caring, empathic, cheeky son!! We love you beautiful boy.

Love,

Mum xxx
