Weekend fun

Dear Matthew

Last weekend while I was busy studying your dad took you to the RAAF Aviation Museum. You got to sit in a helicopter and a place and press all the buttons. Apparently your dad tried to read some of the history but your 'enthusiasm' for all of the different aircraft made this a bit difficult.

The day after we all went to Piney Lakes to feed the ducks. The park land there really is beautiful and you enjoyed walking around and exploring. You especially liked the waterfall/stream and 'mountain' (a small hill that we climbed). I loved the brand new ducklings in the water despite it not being spring! They're currently doing up the playground there so hopefully once it's finished you'll also enjoy that space.

It was a lovely weekend which finished with a family dinner at your Ma Ma and Gump's house.

Love you my little explorer,

The volcano park

Dear Matthew

Last Sunday your dad suggested we visit the volcano park in Bentley. I didn't even know the park existed but you enjoyed playing in the water and walking to the top of the 'volcano'. You also loved the raised stepping stones and would call out of their colours as you stepped on them.

Unfortunately it was shockingly hot and due to my pregnancy I just couldn't hack doing much but enjoying the mist sprays and sitting under an awesome boab tree! Your dad took you up the volcano and ran through the water fountains with you (and had an unfortunate incident on the flying fox).

It's always great to explore new parks and playgrounds with you so hopefully we can keep exploring them throughout Perth and find some more hidden treasures to add to our list.

Love you,

Ella's 8th birthday

Dear Matthew

Last Saturday we celebrated your cousin Ella turning 8. We came around to her house in the afternoon and you enjoyed a nice play in the pool with all the kids. We then had a yummy roast together and Ella opened her presents. You loved playing with Harrison of course and eating jelly and birthday cake!

Afterwards we played cake smash which is game where you get splattered in the face with whipped cream. This was great fun despite getting splattered myself! You also enjoyed colouring with the kids and spending time with your grandparents.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - some of my best relationships are with my cousins and many of my childhood memories revolve around having fun with them, so I'm so pleased that you get to experience that too.

Love you,

Mum xxx
