Pregnancy update

Dear Matthew and Toby

Just thought I'd give you a little update on what's been going on inside my tummy the last few months. Your baby sibling is baking nicely, and I'm getting bigger by the day. You both enjoy rubbing the tummy and talking about the baby's possible name. Matt you are keen for Electric and we've told you we'll keep it on the list! We have an idea for a girls name (Josie) but still don't know about a boy's name just yet. You are both very excited and not at all jealous (Matt you were just like that with Toby too).

We've been told bub is measuring a bit small but that may just be because my dates may be off a bit, but I definitely feel a lot smaller than when I was pregnant with each of you, despite the fact that the scales tell me otherwise! This pregnancy has definitely been the hardest though, earlier on I had the worst morning sickness, and just being older while running around after two older kids has definitely taken it's toll. I'm certainly not ready for your sibling to make their appearance any time soon, and am somewhat sure this bub will be a 42 weeker because as you know, I bake babies for a long time (Tobes you were 41 weeks, 3 days!) and babies are far easier in than out, no matter what anyone tells you! It's very much been a case of just going about our days, trying to mother/work/study/grow a human/survive a global pandemic and I really haven't given too much thought to what's going to happen in late August/early September. I'm enjoying our beautiful moments together (see below) and while I can't wait till our family is complete, I'm still very much cherishing these last months with my two gorgeous boys. For the record I'm guessing you will have another brother joining you, but all the medical 'clues' (dates wrong, small baby, nausea etc) point to a sister. We shall just have to wait and see!

Love you,

Toodyay

Dear Matthew and Toby

As I'm sure I've documented plenty of times before on this blog, both of you hated driving in the car as babies. With your sibling on the way, I have been mentally preparing myself to be staying at home a lot when they appear (much like lockdown!). However, I've been saying for years that I've wanted to visit the Christmas shop in Toodyay, so on a recent Saturday we all set out to Toodyay, which is about 1.5 hours from Perth, as I knew once your sibling joins us we wouldn't be doing trips to the next suburb let alone a trip to a country town, for a very long time.

So we set off and enjoyed different songs together on our trip, before arriving in the town. Our first stop was the coveted Christmas 360, during which we all explored the amazing array of Christmas stuff. We then strolled up and down the main drag, and stopped for lunch at the pub. Afterwards we decided to the go the fairytale farm just out of town which had animals you could feed, fairytale character displays and giant games. You both had a great time feeding the animals and climbing all over the characters. We had a go at croquet together and giant Connect 4.

We then headed home and Tobes you barely made it ten minutes in the car before zonking out! It was a fun day and I'm glad we were able to tick it off the list before bub arrives.

Love you,
