Josie at 10 months

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie,

Josie you're now 10 months! Below is an update from my Instagram of your last month:

Another month has come and gone with you beautiful Josie! This month you’ve been perfecting your kneeling and standing unassisted, you took your first step and can walk between the couch and chair by yourself. You are great in the car for at least 15 minutes which has given us tremendous freedom to explore. You had your third lockdown but it was only for four days and apart from not attending playgroup, nothing else in our routine changed 😆 You have started saying a few words very clearly, including Archie, Peppa and daddy. You made me super proud by recognising the Friends theme song and dancing along whenever it comes on or when I sing it. You love being outdoors and despite the wet weather we’ve been having, you’re happy to crawl around on wet grass and get dirty. Your favourite people are still your brothers and you love blowing raspberries on Matt’s belly. You have also formed a strong attachment to your grandparents and crack it when they leave the house. You love playing at kindy too when we drop Toby off and you’re usually crying as I have to pull you away and out the gate. You wave at anyone driving away or when we say bye on FaceTime. You love playing crawling chasie around the couch and you even let me leave you at night for 45 minutes this month without issue. You continue to light up our lives and I’m doing my best to convince your dad that I shouldn’t return to work, but just hang with you forever and ever xx

Love you all,

Our first family walk in our new 'hood

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

In our old house we lived only a couple of doors down from the local school which had a number of playgrounds, as well as other sports ovals that we used to play on, so it was important for us to find the local parks in our new area quickly. On our first family walk we found one only a couple of minutes away, with a big oval, a playground and a basketball court. It is surrounded by beautiful trees and Soda loved running around with the other dogs that were down there.

Since then we've also ventured down to the lakes and the massive playground about fifteen minutes walk from our house. We are very lucky to live where we do and I'm still pinching myself as it just doesn't feel real. I hope we can give you a wonderful childhood here.

Love you all,

Sleepover with Harry

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

We had another evening of fun at our place recently when all the cousins came over for dinner and we cranked the fire pit again for some toasted marshmallows. Afterwards when everyone had left, your cousin Harry stayed for a sleepover and you boys all slept on the blowup bed in front of the big tv. As you can see from the photos below, you boys absolutely love spending time with Harry, and I am so so grateful that you all get along so well. As you know I loved growing up with my cousins always there, so it means the world to me that you get to play with them all and especially with Harry as he's so close in age to you Matt. I also love that we're opening our house up to hospitality, something I felt was always tricky in our old place due to its small size. I hope we can entertain more in our new place (within the limits of COVID of course).

Love you all,

Firepit time!

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

Now that winter has arrived, we decided to buy a fire pit to use in our new house as it has the perfect area out the back to set it up safely. We had Ma Ma, Gumps and Aunty Robyn over for dinner and afterwards lit the fire and toasted marshmallows to our heart's content. We also made some s'mores and enjoyed our first evening outdoors in our backyard. We also managed to declutter a lot of paper rubbish in the process!

Earlier that day we had been driving along the freeway and saw the most beautiful rainbow - so I thought you might like to see it below, as I always appreciate seeing one.

Love you all,
