First day of Year 4 and Pre-Primary

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

The summer holidays have come to an end and with that you're back to school boys! Matt you are going into Year 4, and you have the same teacher that you had last year which we are stoked about as you clicked so well with him and had your best year of school yet. Tobes you are going into full time school for the first time, starting Pre-Primary!

Your dad took you both to school to see your classrooms/drop off your school books (and meet your new teacher Tobes) the day before school started so you were both comfortable. Tobes you even gave your new teacher a hug on the way out so I knew you'd be fine! On your first day we all went as a family and you were both super excited to be there. Tobes you have a lot of the same friends from last year and Matt you have a couple of close friends in your class too.

After a week or so the school held their parent info night and it was great to see that they've come a long way over the last year and will be improving their communication. There are also heaps of opportunities available to you both. Matt you will be able to continue with your basketball and choir at school, which you really enjoy. For homework yours seems even less than last year Matt, with just spelling words, times tables and Lexile readers. Tobes you just need to do some reading comprehension and make a start on Reading Eggs, which you already enjoy doing.

Looking forward to a great year for you both!

Love you all,

Holiday fun with friends

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

The summer holidays are quickly coming to an end. Your dad has taken all of January and February off to spend time with you all while I have worked full-time, and you have all had a great time together. Most notably, you've been having more sleepovers with friends Matt, both at our house and at theirs. Youve stayed at Lockie and Heath's, as well as Michael's, and your cousin Harry's. You also seem to be at Michael's house every other day, as you plan catch ups over your ipads and come to us with a plan. With your dad home, we've had so much extra flexibility to make these catch-ups happen which has been great. Below are some photos of you all having a sleepover in our big bed, and you all enjoying time with your mates during sleepovers.

Matt, you have the same teacher as last year in school which we all happy about as he was amazing and connected with you so well, and Tobes your teacher is apparently lovely as well, so I have a feeling we're going to have a great start to the school year (fingers crossed anyway!). This is your first year of full-time school Tobes, and while you have been saying you don't want to go, you love it when you're there (especially playing with your friends). Daddy will be doing drop-offs for the first month with you all and then I'll take over in March. Luckily I still get to do first-day drop-offs with you on your first day later this week.

Love you all,

January birthdays (including Soda!)

 Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

Another January, another round of birthdays! This year we started by buying Soda her own birthday gift (a yummy birthday biscuit bone) and singing happy birthday to her. Soda is now 12, so this may be one of her last birthdays, as she is definitely slowing down, so we spoilt her.

We also celebrated by birthday with Japanese takeaway and a princess cake from Miss Mauds (I have wanted one for years) at our place, and then Ma Ma's birthday with yet another Christmas ham, salads and apple strudel at hers a few days later. It was low-key all round this year but we've got a big celebration coming up next month with your dad's milestone birthday, so there will be larger celebrations with family to come! I'm so grateful to celebrate yet another birthday of mine with you all being happy and healthy - we are beyond lucky my beautiful babies.

Love you all,

Mum xxx
