An early leaves photo

Dear Matthew

Well, that time of year again has arrived, although to be honest I think it's a bit earlier this year than we've had in the past, and we took your 'photo-in-the-leaves' under the beautiful tree in Ma Ma and Gumps' front yard.

I love this tradition and with Ma Ma and Gumps contemplating selling their house sometime over the next few years I'm saddened to think we won't be able to do this your whole childhood. I'm sure we can find another tree to accommodate this though :)

This year was much easier than last year - you were more than happy to oblige me with a happy smiling face, unlike last year where Gumps had to hold you down in the leaves while I madly tapped at my phone, attempting to get a good photo.

This will be your last photo by yourself - next year your sibling will join you!

You can see the first three photos we took at the bottom of this blog- I love seeing my beautiful boy grow this way!

Love you,

Easter weekend 2017

Dear Matthew

Your second hunt of the Easter season took place on the Saturday morning of the Easter weekend at your friends Chloe and Lily's house. We were very lucky to be invited to come and hunt for eggs and do some Easter activities. You had a great time decorating an Easter egg with sequins and pom poms and hunting in their backyard for your loot.

On Sunday morning you woke up to find the Easter bunny had also made an appearance at our house overnight. In his usual fashion he had left footprints leading up to the front door and then out the back door again. You were very excited to do another hunt and loved jumping in the footprints.

We then headed over to your aunty Chantel's for brunch and yet ANOTHER Easter egg with all of your cousins! It was wonderful to watch the seven of you make a mad dash around their huge backyard scooping up all of the eggs. We then feasted on a yummy cooked breaky along with plenty of tasty treats made by your cousins.

Afterwards we headed to Bunnings and I was blown away that you were happy to get your arm painted by the fairy near the playground. You normally shy away from things like this but you really do seem to be coming out of your shell and loved that she painted a blue dragon on your arm. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

Hope you had a lovely Easter my beautiful boy - perhaps next year your sibling will be crawling and can join you on the hunts :)

Love you,
