Toby's bapstim

Dear Matthew and Toby

Last Sunday we celebrated Toby's baptism with a lovely ceremony at St Thomas Moore Church. This was the same church that Matt was baptised at four years ago and is connected to Matt's school, which was wonderful as Matt was so at home in the church given he'd had his liturgy there a few weeks ago (and kept telling the other kids that he lived there).

We met everyone at around 1:30pm and after a few photos Father Garner started the ceremony outside the Church (as a symbol of the fact that Toby was about to enter into the Church family, as we entered the church), and each of your parents and grandparents placed a sign of the cross on your forehead, and then Matt you tried to as well, but I'm not sure you knew what to do so you just sort of moved your hand around Toby's forehead, which was gorgeous.

Inside the church we began the ceremony with your godparents Aunty Chantel and Aunty Robyn. We chose both your aunties to be your godparents because they have always been so supportive of our little family and treat you both like their own children. They will be wonderful women you can call upon at any point in time to love and assist you with their wisdom.

Aunty Robyn did a reading and Aunty Chantel held you Toby while you were being baptised with the holy water. You were so well behaved, although as anticipated you did insist on standing up while holding onto my hands for part of the ceremony, as this is your thing lately. Matt, you were allowed to hold the lit baptism candle and at one point I thought the church was going to go up in smoke but you were so well behaved and took on the role of holding the candle so responsibly. It was just beautiful to watch you be part of the ceremony, our whole family was included and I have some gorgeous memories from the day because of how the lovely priest made it so family-friendly.

Afterwards we took some more photos and headed back to Ma and Gramps' house for some afternoon tea. Your Aunty Robyn was in charge of the cake and it was the most beautiful looking and delicious tasting cookies and cream cake! See photos below of the epic masterpiece.

It was such a wonderful, simple and happy day baptising our little Toby.

Love you boys,

P.S. Yes Toby you looked like a little Armish baby but how could I NOT have bought that outfit- you were so ridiculously cute in it!!
