Aunty Robyn's and Nanna's birthdays and lunch with the cousins

Dear Matthew and Toby

This month we celebrated your aunty Robyn's 25th birthday. Matt you made her a card with a drawing of her favourite Pokemon on it and we all had home made pizza and cake at Ma Ma and Gumps' house to celebrate. You boys love pepperoni pizza and Tobes you especially had a lot of fun making the pizza with Aunty Robyn and Uncle Andrew.

A few days later we also celebrated your Nanna's birthday by having a yummy breakfast out with her, Darryl and your cousins. Afterwards we went to the new park and bridge in Burswood and enjoyed lunch together and played on the playground. We did a partial walk across the bridge but Tobes you hit a brick wall so we turned back and called it a day, but you both loved spending time with family celebrating.

Love you,

Matt goes to hospital

Dear Matthew and Toby

We had a bit of a scare these holidays with you Matt. You had spent the day at your grandparents house as your dad and I had both been at work. On the way home in the car you said to me that you didn't want to eat dinner. I replied that that was fine, but I thought it was a bit strange. By the time we got home, you wanted to go straight to bed. After a few minutes you said your stomach really hurt so I said run to the toilet as you may need to vomit or poo. You did this and nothing came out, but the second you'd gotten back in bed you started screaming in pain. This happened a couple of times and so I called the after-hours doctor. However your pain kept increasing in your stomach so we made the call to take you to emergency. As we started getting ready, I called the GP to cancel and they said they were just on the way so we could wait. When they got to the house and examined you, they agreed we needed to go straight to the emergency room with suspected appendicitis. Your dad quickly rushed you there while I waited for your grandparents to come look after you Tobes so that I could join Matt and daddy at the hospital. Luckily once we got to Fiona Stanley you were seen relatively quickly Matt and given some drugs for the pain. After that you were monitored for a while, but as you can see from the photos, you were perfectly fine.

We were grateful that the pain passed and that we skipped having to have another surgery. So lucky!! And so appreciative that we live in a place with free, expert medical care nearby.

Love you,
