Book Week, Playground, Fire Pit and the last day of my parental leave, ever!

Dear Matthew, Toby and Josie

Well, with August rolling around again, that meant it was time to dress up for Book Week! Matt you insisted on going as Pig the Pug again this year, so I changed it up slightly and added a Santa hat so you could go as one of the other Pig books, Pig the Elf! Tobes you went as a construction worker from your favourite story that Nanna got you, the Little Digger.

We have also been taking regular walks down to the massive playground near our place now that the weather is slightly improving with Spring on the way, and you've all enjoyed running around in the sunshine. We did take advantage of the cooler evenings still though and have another go at the fire pit, with the photos below being taken for you to share as news in the coming weeks Matt.

Finally, it was the end of my last ever parental leave. I have really enjoyed being at home again for the last year, but all good things must come to an end. The job I am returning to is completely different to the job I left (I knew this would happen, thanks to COVID) but what's most difficult for me is that my entire team has left during my parental leave. I'm sure the new team are lovely, it's just a venture into the unknown. Your nanna has also hurt her back so can't babysit you all on her usual day, so I'm going to have to work evenings to make up for that lost day (on top of the Masters study I'm trying to do in the evenings). Something tells me I won't be getting much sleep! But I genuinely enjoy my job, so it's important that I return, even if it means not seeing you all as much. Hopefully it means I return after work refreshed and ready to be a better mum.

Love you all,

Mum xxx
